Meet the Animals at Three Barn Acres

Dante24, American Quarter Horse
Dante is the eldest and most distinguished member of the farm. With his solid build and wise eyes, he carries himself with the calm confidence of experience. Though his expression can seem a bit grumpy at times, don’t be fooled—he’s a softie at heart who never turns down a treat or a good neck scratch.

Lilly5, Standardbred/Quarter Horse Mix
Lilly is full of spunk and sweetness, with a curious streak that often lands her in the middle of any mischief. If there’s trouble brewing, chances are she’s not far from it! She’s a big fan of treats and absolutely adores a good head scratch. Just keep an eye on your hat or scarf—she has a knack for snatching them when you least expect it.

LuckyBoer Goat, born January 20, 2025
Lucky is as sweet as they come. Bottle-fed from the very beginning, she’s incredibly friendly and follows her people everywhere like a little shadow. She’s got a playful side too—especially when it comes to climbing into boxes or exploring new things. Elissa has to keep a close eye on her though, because if there’s a flower in sight, Lucky’s probably already nibbling on it!

CloverNigerian Dwarf Goat, born February 16, 2025
Don’t let Clover’s tiny size fool you—she’s full of energy and can leap, run, and climb with the best of them. She and Lucky make quite the adventurous pair! Clover is also a bit of a shadow goat—if you turn a corner and she loses sight of you, she’ll let out a loud call and come bounding right back. Just like her buddy, she’s got a taste for flowers, so watch your garden!

The ChickensBuff Orpingtons, Plymouth Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds & Silver Laced Wyandottes
There are too many to name just yet—but don’t worry, each one will earn a distinguished name as their personalities emerge! For now, they’re a busy, chatty bunch, scratching around the coop and yard, growing fast and getting into everything. Whether they’re chasing bugs or sunbathing in a little pile, these feathered friends bring a lot of life (and laughter) to the farm.

The Barn CatsHestia, Spooky, Shadow & Athena
These four fierce felines are the best mousers in Brookings County, no contest. They keep the barn free of varmints with quiet determination and sharp eyes. While they’re a bit shy around visitors, their curiosity usually gets the better of them—don’t be surprised to spot a pair of eyes watching you from the hayloft, especially if something interesting is happening in the studio.

Toby6, Mini Golden
Toby is the resident dog of the farm—and while his watchdog skills are still a work in progress, his sweetness more than makes up for it. He’s not exactly welcome in the barn (the barn cats made that very clear), but every now and then he manages to sneak out and settle himself right at Elissa’s feet while she works in the studio. He might be better suited for life on a cul-de-sac, but he’s part of the farm family, and we love him just the way he is.

Storm5, Tuxedo Cat
Storm is the elegant indoor king of the household, always watching over his domain from a sunny windowsill. Though he should stay inside, he’s a master escape artist—if a door is left ajar too long, prepare for a mad dash as the kids scramble to bring him back in. Curious and observant, Storm keeps a close eye on all the farm happenings from the safety of his perch, ruling his kingdom with quiet dignity.
